Vintage Historic home is a top foreclosure pick

Located in one of the prime area of the Fort Myers Historic District near the homes of Edison and Ford, this vintage historic home build in 1925 offers quality of craftsmanship within a classic Cape Code architectural design and an Old  Florida flair.

         POinciana T             PoincianaT2

It has an oversized lot of over a third of an acre, with a depth of around 160 feet.Don't let the age fool you. It has a full modern bathroom and kitchen and a separate cottage which could be used for visitors or income. Perfect for an investor or a new homesteader.

         Poinciana T3           PoincianaT7

The wood floors are original and it boots a fireplace, granite counter tops, crown molding an a Jacuzzi tub. It has all the comfort of a modern home within a historic home.

           PoincianaT10                 PoincianaT6

This home is my one of pick for one of the more interesting foreclosures along the historic district of Fort Myers. This Fort Myers foreclosure 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. At an asking price of $258,000 I wouldn't think that it would stay long on this market.Remember we are talking about over 2100 square feet in a prime area.

Snook Bight Yacht Club Marina is open for business

A few weeks ago my wife and I had the pleasure of being invited at the Snook Bight Yacht Club & Marina Fort Myers Beach. It was a lay back promotional affair with an open cook out and drinks. They want to make sure Florida Boaters know that the Snook Bight is open for business.

2008_0310Snook0017 View of the Bayfront Bistro located on the second floor.

It was a fun event with plenty of smoked meats and pasta, an open free bar which I didn't mind and a Key West type band with  a fair amount of Jimmy Buffet songs. It is located on Fort Myers Beach mid island just behind the fairly attractive Publix ( amazing but true), of course smack on Estero Bay. It looks like a winner. It is.

2008_0310Snook0005 The Snook Bight Marina Yacht  Club

This new marina/ Yacht club is meant for the serious boaters in mind. The slips are to be build by the early spring and will have 201 state -of-the art dry storage up to 42 feet. Tip free loading and unloading services, 54 concrete floating docks up to 50 feet which is the best money can buy, wireless internet, water, cable tv access, electrical hook up dockside.

2008_0310Snook0009  The older slips as they are now. There will be floating concrete 54 wet slips instead. The real thing.

It is loading with amenities to numerous to name all of them, but I can tell you that I have seen the club house, the location of the 150 seat restaurant and bar which view sweeps the entire bay frontage from a second floor, a pool which was already build when I took a tour, on site licensed techs, and on site ship's store and more... and they have not left any stoned unturned.

                           2008_0310Snook0012

This is a quality  Fort Myers Beach marina with easy access and minutes from Estero Bay to the Gulf Of Mexico. You may either lease or buy the dry racks units.Same for the Wet slips. It works like a condo. This concept is perfect for Florida boaters who want to own their own wet slips or dry racks and also want to enjoy some of the amenities of a Yacht Club....or rent them. Either way its a winner.

2008_0310Snook0006 The Marina's Official Host, is a 10 year old colorful Macaw named Tiki.

Wet slips are from size 38', 46' and 50' with beam range to 23' with prices ranging from $150K to $225K.

                           2008_0310Snook0024 Club House

The Rackominiums or dry Rack pretty much works like a condominium. You purchase it and receive a Deed. It also has an association. Racks range from $75,000 to $200,000.

2008_0310Snook0027    Estero Bay, Fort Myers Beach

Financing is available at or below prime rate. I am glad they didn't say at or above. Note: prices may raise and have already been adjusted higher twice, so if interested, take advantage of the present affordable prices.

2008_0310Snook0039 Eric Stone Band at the party.

20 favorite songs and "Change is Gonna Come" by Seal

With the present economy, war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the 700 billion dollars bail out mess, the Real Estate eye raising brow state, I am ranking Seal's "Change is Gonna Come". This guy has soul in his blood.

U2 classic love song: "One". Hard to miss this one. Timeless.

     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFWPeVfWB9o

Marvin Gaye: What's going on/What's Happening brother. I wanted to think What's going on America. One of my highly favorites.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9KC7uhMY9s

Desert Rose with Sting/Cheb Mami : Sting mixes western culture with Moroccan star Cheb Mani. A beauty of 2 worlds.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bxRewGi77k

"Smooth" Santana/ Rob Thomas : Santana? No need to say more with the great vocal of Rob Thomas.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpX97eg-W-k

Song for You" Ray Charles: a less known song by Ray Charles during his last years. Watch that piano! The raspy voice is still there.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXGc0OoZEsM

"stairway to Heaven" led Zapellin. A bit quiter then the usual Zapellin.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayzhJKy8H_A

"Nothing Else Matters" Metallica. That is when Metallica could really do some music.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgiGrXpOhYg

"Gansta Paradise". One of the few raps songs I like.At least they sing. But then, I don't pretend to understand rap or hip pop.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOEArhmJFu4

But then I prefer the Al Yankovic version hahaha:classic Al...I think it sold more then the original.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uj-JflMMKpk

" Billie Jean" Michael Jackson. What happened since then?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=En-cHBv7UpA

" Smells like teen spirit" Nirvana. The grunge master from Seattle.

Fun, sun and Sand Sculpting Festival

Dozen of Master Sculptors competed this last week end in Fort Myers Beach. The competition was stiff. Following is a bio of these amazing artists:http://sandsculptingfestival.com/masters.php This time I came back with a camera and was eager to take a closer look at this ephemeral and mercurial art form. One sculptor told me that she uses elmer glue mixed with water and sprays the sculpture bit by bit. That is why they look pretty strong and can withstand some premature erosion. They can take your breath away.

On November 8-9th 2008 The American Sand Sculpting  Championship Festival  took place on the shores of the Outrigger and the Holiday Inn and attracted thousands of visitors to our island.A well needed event during a compromised national economy,we could take a breather from it all and refill our batteries. A day after the actual competition hundreds were still flocking around this fragile art form. Who do you think should have won? Art is such a subjective competition. Of course, I thought that our local Grand master Sand Sculptor, Katie Corning, is one of best. Following is her web site:http://www.sandmagic.com/gallery.htm. Am I objective? No. Is she one of the best?  Yes. What do you think?

Perhaps I will do another post about her another time. These artists are fascinating.
